The Genome: An Integrated Information System
The genome is far more than merely a collection of individual genes. Protein-coding genes provide instructions for producing proteins, while regulatory sequences help control when, where, and how those genes are used. Working together, these genetic elements form a sophisticated, integrated information-bearing system that regulates cellular activity and helps govern the structure, maintenance, and function of the living body.
God’s DNA Design for Marine Life and Birds
In the marine creatures and birds created on the fifth day, God established within each distinct kind a highly ordered genetic system. This integrated mechanism contains the precise biological instructions that are required for specialized structures, unique forms,
growth, metabolic function, reproduction, and the faithful inheritance of traits across future generations. These instructions also coordinate the many sophisticated cellular activities necessary for the creature to grow, function, reproduce, and preserve its distinctive characteristics.
