King James Version

The Book of Psalms

Psalm 100

The Righteous Declaration of a Godly King

A Psalm of praise.

1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God:
it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endureth to all generations.

About Psalms Chapter 100

Book IV · Psalms 90–106 — God’s eternal kingship and faithful care

What happens

All lands are summoned to serve the LORD gladly and enter His gates with thanksgiving. The people confess that He made them, that they belong to His flock and that His goodness and faithfulness endure.

Why it matters

Worship begins with recognizing who God is and whose we are. Thanksgiving is an appropriate response to the Creator’s lasting mercy, not simply to pleasant circumstances.

Key verse

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
